DhoniRetires became one of the top-trending hashtags on Twitter on Tuesday as fans started talking about the former captain's achievements and his impending retirement.

Indian cricket fans on social media went in panic mode at an early stage Tuesday morning as #DhoniRetires began to incline on Twitter in spite of there being no news on MS Dhoni's retirement or his tentative arrangements as an India cricketer.
Fans began talking about Dhoni's accomplishments and records as a batsman and wicketkeeper with some, in any event, approaching him to continue playing for the nation. Stressed that he may declare his retirement soon, a few fans even began tweeting with #NeverRetireDhoni and #ThankYouDhoni.
Bits of gossip about the 38-year-old's retirement has been doing the rounds as far back as he enjoyed a reprieve from cricket after India's exit from the 2019 World Cup in England. The semi-last against New Zealand, which India lost and smashed out of the competition accordingly, was the last time Dhoni was seen on a cricket field.

Sourav Ganguly recently addressed the issue after assuming responsibility as BCCI president, saying that Dhoni is one of the greats of the game and he will be regarded under his residency.
