We have waited long for it and it's finally here. There's a new Poco branded smartphone in town and as it happens to be the first one since Poco separated from Xiaomi, it's a rather different one. It's called the Poco X2 and prices start from Rs 15,999 for the base variant with 6GB RAM as well as 64GB storage. Yes, it looks similar to the Redmi K30 4G from China and even the specifications seem to be a carbon copy of the Chinese variant. That said, it's still a completely new phone for India and there are lots to enjoy on this one.

Before we discuss the specifications, here's a rundown of all the variants the Poco X2 will be available in. There's a base variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage that will retail for Rs 15,999. The second variant comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, which you can get for Rs 16,999. The third variant extends the storage to 256GB and that will cost you Rs 19,999. The Poco X2 will be available for purchase on Flipkart starting from February 11 from 12 noon and Poco will be only selling the phone here. ICICI Bank debit and credit card users can get an additional Rs 1,000 off on the Poco X2 while making the purchase.

Similar to the older Poco F1, the Poco X2 goes high on specifications. However, unlike the F1, the X2 focuses on all parameters and that can be seen in its specifications list. The Poco X2 uses Corning Gorilla Glass 5 panels on both the front and back - a big departure from the plastic panels of the F1. The phone even has a metallic frame instead of a plastic one. Poco has focused on the build quality highly this time.

For the last few weeks, Poco has been proud to flaunt the high refresh rate display. The X2 is the cheapest phone in India with a 120Hz refresh rate display. Poco uses an IPS LCD panel with a dual punch-hole cutout for housing the two cameras at the front. The display itself measures 6.67-inches with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and that's big by all standards.

Similar to the Poco F1, the Poco X2 goes high on performance. Inside, there's a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset that's paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Poco is using UFS 2.1 storage on the X2, which should aid faster load times. Poco is also using a liquid cooling system to keep temperatures under control under peak performance demands.

Since Poco relies on Xiaomi for all its resources, the X2 ends up using Xiaomi's MIUI 11 but with the Poco launcher installed. The MIUI version is based on Android 10 here. Poco is also baking support for VoWiFi at launch, which means you can make calls via your Wi-Fi network if you are on Airtel or Jio network. To keep things running, the Poco X2 uses a 4500mAh battery and for those worried about charging, the Poco X2 supports 27W fast charging and Poco is bundling a 27W fast charger adapter in the box.

Cameras are also in focus this time. At the back, the Poco X2 has a quad-camera setup. The main camera is using a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 sensor with F1.89 lens, which Poco claims can offer more details. Assisting the main camera is an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera as well as a 2-megapixel macro camera and a 2-megapixel depth camera. At the front, the X2 is using a dual-camera system, with the main camera being a 20-megapixel sensor that's assisted by a 2-megapixel depth camera. Poco is baking a few special camera features for videographers. Users can record 960fps slow-motion videos as well as take still photos in RAW format. There's also a new VLOG mode with seven different styles.

The Poco X2 will be available in three colour variants: Atlantic Blue, Matrix Purple and Phoenix Red.
