Pradhan urged the Centre for a direct flight between Jharsuguda and Mumbai under UDAN scheme.
Bhubaneswar: In perspective on bigger interests of people of Odisha, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan urged the Centre for a direct flight between Jharsuguda and Mumbai under UDAN scheme.
With the tremendous commercial achievement of flight activity by SpiceJet from Jharsuguda to New Delhi, the Union Minister requested direct flight service between Jharsuguda and country’s business capital Mumbai.
"The SpiceJet has initiated air activities from Jharsuguda with a direct flight to New Delhi. The route has been an incredible commercial achievement and has additionally enormously profited the people of western Odisha, who would now be able to fly straightforwardly to the national capital. Moreover, SpiceJet has also introduced flights with Hyderabad and Kolkata from Jharsuguda which is giving greater connectivity for the travelers going to upper east and southern piece of the nation. In any case, there is an absence of direct air network between western Odisha and India's business capital Mumbai," Pradhan kept in touch with Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep S Puri.
In a letter dated November 6, 2019, he wrote that there is a strong interest from air travelers for a direct flight on this route.
Pradhan mentioned Puri for his own intercession in beginning of a non-stop trip among Jharsuguda and Mumbai at the soonest to benefit people of western Odisha.
